Thai Bodywork

Thai style bodywork is more casual than most western massage and is typically done on the floor on a padded mat fully clothed. The practitioner employs techniques using their whole body to feel for tension and facilitate release, which among other things can heal old injuries, improve range of motion, and induce relaxation in the client.

After flirting with the idea of studying Thai massage for a few years, I went to Thailand to study for 2 months in the winter of 2017. The first month was at Loi Kroh, a small school where I worked one-on-one with a different teacher each week to get a basic understanding of the practice and to develop primary techniques. After the first month, I began studies with Pichest Boonthumme, the venerable and well known master in Chiang Mai who teaches at his home every day. I returned in 2018 for 2 weeks to continue studying with him.
